Needs Statement

Hear about critical areas of rural economic development, social determinants of health and non-traditional entities such as transportation, commerce, labor and housing, and critical components of healthy rural multiracial and multicultural communities. Hear and update on the US-Mexico Border Health Commission and how to integrate health and non-health sector partners to establish and maintain sustainable systems.

Target Audience

Designed to benefit those who are dedicated to bringing quality health care and health care services to this underserved and often under-represented portion of the rural population.

Objectives

1. Describe the border region
2. Identify the role of the USMBHC
3. Examine our responsibility to assure quality of life and reduce the health disparity gap along the border/rural communities
