The problems that contribute to limited health literacy are found in both urban and rural environments. Although many of the issues are shared by both urban and rural settings, there is a distinction in many of the contributing factors, the cultural components, and potential interventions.Target Audience
Physicians, psychologists and other healthcare providers.Objectives
- Describe barriers to health literacy in rural Kentucky;
- Define the differences between urban and rural communities in terms of culture and education;
- Describe the difference in health literacy between urban and rural environments;
- Discuss the physical quality of life index.
