Needs Statement
The standard of care for hypertension has become more precise and well defined. Physicians must be aware of relevant clinical studies and the benefit of attaining a blood pressure of less than or equal to 120/80 when possible. The majority of patients with hypertension are not adequately managed, some because of their avoidance of the medical system and/or poor adherence, and others because of insufficient effort controlled by medical practitioners. Every effort needs to be made to increase physician and patient awareness of the importance of hypertension control.Target Audience
