Biosketch
Dr. Wilson is a graduate of Emory University and the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. As an Obstetrician and Gynecologist and a Reproductive Endocrinologist, he performed Kentucky’s first successful pregnancy by in-vitro fertilization.
Dr. Wilson served as Dean of the UK College of Medicine for 18 years, which placed him among the top 3 longest serving medical school deans in the country. He served on the Executive Council of the Association of American Medical Colleges and he was chair of the Liaison Committee for Medical Education that is responsible for the accreditation of all medical schools in the United States and Canada.
Dr. Wilson is the author of more than 130 articles and abstracts and five books. “The Medical School Dean” which he co-edited with D. Kay Clawson, MD and "Pearls for Leaders of Academic medicine", co-authored with Jay A. Perman, MD, and D. Kay Clawson, MD, are the only resources for improving leadership and management skills for medical school deans.
